LAND ROVER WARRANTY

5 Year Care Plan

Land Rover introduced the 5 Year Care Plan in October 2009.

The Land Rover UK manufacturer's warranty is valid for 3 years or 100 000kms whichever occurs sooner whilst Jaguar Land Rover South Africa introduced the 5 Year Care Plan to provide our valued customers with additional peace of mind motoring up to 5 years.

The 5 Year 100 000km (whichever occurs first) Care Plan, consists of three components:

- Warranty (3 years 100 000km)

- Service (5 years 100 000km)

- Maintenance. (5 Years 100 000km – refer to Service and Care Plan Portfolio)

The 5 year or 100 000 km Care Plan is unique to Jaguar Land Rover SA and therefore only applies to vehicles (2010 MY onwards), sold in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia and is standard on all new Land Rover vehicles, excluding Defender.

The Land Rover Care Plan absorbs all maintenance and service costs, with the exception of between-service top-up fluids, fuel, cracked or broken glass, and tyres. Care Plan is registered with the new vehicle and as such is transferable to the new owner should the car be sold before the Care Plan has expired, given added resale value.

Care Plan, subject to certain exclusions, covers any repairs necessary after the expiry of the standard manufacturer's warranty.

The customer is obliged to comply with the instructions relating to the maintenance, use and care of the vehicle as set out in the Owner's Manual and Warranty and Maintenance Information Booklet.

Should any defects or failure arise, occur or become apparent, the Customer shall take such reasonable action as necessary to avoid or minimise damage to the vehicle.

Whilst the vehicle is covered under Care Plan – the customer will have the benefit of:

- 24-hour roadside assistance through Europe Assist.

- The choice of having your vehicle serviced at any of the Land Rover Dealerships throughout South Africa, Namibia or Botswana.

Land Rover Approved Body Shops

Looking after your vehicle involves everything from general maintenance and vehicle care to driving safely and responsibly. Another part of looking after your Land Rover – one that you hopefully never have to think of - involves ensuring that only qualified individuals repair your Land Rover if it is ever involved in an accident. Although some insurers may require that the repairs are done elsewhere, we recommend that you use one of the approved body shops.

For complete confidence, every Land Rover Genuine Part comes with a full 12-month warranty

Parts and Accessories Warranty

A 12 month unlimited kilometre warranty is provided with Land Rover Genuine Parts. This covers the cost of any parts that need replacement or are used in the repair of your Land Rover. All repairs are carried out in a Land Rover Approved Service Centre using Land Rover Genuine Parts. When parts are purchased over the counter a 6 month/10 000km warranty applies.

Accessories fitted to a new vehicle

Land Rover genuine parts and Accessories have been designed specifically to comply with our high standards of safety and reliability. They provide the best solution for all service and maintenance needs. In addition, any genuine part or accessory that is purchased or provided by a Land Rover Approved Service Centre or dealership will be covered by warranty.

Every Land Rover Approved Accessory comes with a 12 month warranty. Accessories fitted within one month or 1,600 kilometres (whichever occurs first) of the handover of a new Land Rover will be covered by the vehicle warranty.

General conditions

Our parts and accessories comply with Land Rover's safety and reliability standards, so we strongly recommend you only choose genuine Land Rover parts and accessories for your car.

Other parts and accessories have not been tested and approved by Land Rover, so we aren't able to evaluate their quality. Any damage caused by non-genuine Land Rover parts or accessories is not covered by the Warranty.

Paint Surface Warranty

With this Warranty, if any paintwork needs attention, the work will be completed by a Land Rover Approved Service Centre, free of charge.

This cover lasts three years from the day you take delivery of your new Land Rover, regardless of mileage.

Corrosion Protection Warranty

If any part of your Land Rover's bodywork is corroded with rust, the affected panels are repaired or replaced by a Land Rover Approved Service Centre, free of charge.

Regardless of mileage or any change of ownership, this coverage lasts six years from the day you take delivery of your new Land Rover. This is subject to an annual corrosion inspection to be carried out by your approved Land Rover dealership.
